How does Patientfriends operate?
Patientfriends is made up of the general public who have an interest
in improving health care and supporting those being served by the
NHS. It has meetings and events to get peoples feedback and ideas
about improving patient care. As well as supporting and encouraging
each other with a particular health situation.
Patientfriends is interested in listening to the experiences that
people have had with their doctor through the NHS. The aim of
Patientfriends is to find out what are the issues that concern
people. As well as the things that people have liked about the way
they were treated.
Patientfriends will endeavour to find out who is responsible for
particular areas of patient care, and through dialogue, local
community and local media raise the profile of important issues that
affect us all in relation to patient care. Also to help get people
involved with their local health service.
Patientfriends shall publicise itself by setting up stalls handing
out leaflets and asking people what concerns them about their health
care and what they would like to see improved. Also to become linked
to other similar patient care organisations and other support groups
for specific health conditions.
