Patient friends Constitution and fAQ.
Patient friends is a support group for anyone who has any sort of health issue, to gain support, advice and maybe help with any problems with their GP, hospital consultant, or other NHS treatment. This is done in an atmosphere of respect and appreciation for the wonderful hard-working NHS doctors nurses and staff.
Our goal is better health care, concerned with the needs and difficulties that doctors and GPs face, as well as patient's. I stress this, as the ethos of Patient Friends is co-operation and looking at ways of improving health care and solving problems that people face. Rather than being complaining or negative towards the NHS or their staff.
In addition it is a place where people can share their experiences and put forward ideas how things can be improved. To this end patient friends is also a positive campaign group. Allowing a forum for real people to give feedback about issues that concern at all.
Patient friends is a non commercial support group. Those attending any meeting may be asked for a small contribution just to cover the cost of hiring a room or a call for meetings. And for any refreshments provided again just to cover costs.
There is explicitly no requirement to share any personal history, medical history or anything else. If a member of the group chooses to share anything, it is considered to be private and must not be discussed outside the group.
The support group is not qualified to offer any medical advice on any particular condition. And is in no way a replacement for qualified medical treatment and advice. One of the purposes of Patient Friends is to help people get the best medical treatment for themselves, and their friends and family, through the medical establishment.
Patient friends, is open to everyone, regardless of race or religion, everyone is treated equally and equally welcome. Meetings are to be carried out in a good-natured polite way, where everyone is given time to talk and listened to.
