Patientfriends has two aims
Welcome
The second
aim,is to get together with other members of the
general public and campaign to improve areas of patient care
within the NHS.
By campaign, I mean find out the issues which concern people about the NHS. And
then keep these concerns raised in the local media and in our communities, until
they are addressed and there is some response from whoever is responsible for
that area of the NHS.
This will
involve people's feedback about their experiences with GPs, hospital
doctors and specialists etc.
If there are things you are unhappy about, that you feel could be improved, or
need to be addressed. Then Patientfriends can positively campaign to improve
matters.
The first is to support
each other;and anyone who is being treated by the NHS, to boost our morale and help
us get the best possible treatment and level of patient care.
What is offered is friendship and advice on things like
communication to help NHS doctors and staff treat you in the
best way possible
There is no medical advice offered and there is no requirement to share your
medical history or current health condition.
I think confidence is very important and it can be
a big help with any health problem, to feel as if you deserve the best possible
treatment, and to be aware of your rights. And best of all knowing you people on
your side

Patientfriends, is also about appreciating and acknowledging the areas of the
NHS which give high levels of patient satisfaction. And campaigning for this
good practice to be widely replicated.
This is all done in a spirit of co-operation and appreciation for all GPs,
hospital doctors and specialists, nurses and all other NHS staff.
Patientfriends is open to everyone, it is a noncommercial organisation made up of
the general public, and there is no discrimination towards any person.
If you would like to get
involved with Patientfriends please drop me a line, and
I shall get back to you about meetings
and planning.
I would welcome your feedback and
suggestions as well.
Many
thanks James
